Last week was not great, our picks were fairly disasterous!
Darren Bent never got a sniff of a chance in a poor England performance, VR never reaxhed better than fifth in Catalunya, GMac shot something like a 78 on the Saturday and 8 of our Union Jack horse picks were beat.
Positives were Steve Stricker eventually winning the Memorial and Pour Moi out Dancing Brave, Dancing Brave with one of the most amazing jockey celebrations I will ever see. Don't think anything will ever beat Mikael Barzalona punching the air in victory before he's even passed the horse in the lead! Unbelievable.
Tonnes of Motorsport to get involved in this weekend, brief picks follow:
CANADIAN F1 G.P FERNANDO ALONSO RACE WINNER e/w 1/5 1,2,3
Ferrari are due a strong showing and started to come good around this time last season, at 9/2 in places we'll get most of our stakes back with a podium finish.
BRITISH MOTO G.P ANDREA DOVIZIOSO RACE WINNER e/w 1/3 1,2
BRITISH MOTO G.P 125CC JOHAN ZARCO RACE WINNER e/w 1/3 1,2
BRITISH MOTO2 G.P ANDREA IANNONE RACE WINNER e/w 1/3 1,2,3
Dovi is a previous winner in England although I believe at a different track. With inclement weather expected a shock could occur, the Honda is obviously the fastest bike on the grid this year and when Dovizioso last won a G.P the weather was changeable.
Small stakes e/w in the 125 class due to ridiculous e/w terms on offer with most bookmakers due to odds on favs, but no markets w/o the fav?
5/1 best price about Iannone for the Moto2 could be worth taking but if he is a bigger price after qualifying, I'll be backing him again.
DANISH SPEEDWAY G.P THOMAS GOLLOB O/R WINNER
No each way on this as Gollob is starting to run into some good form and at around 4/1 I believe this to be the best bet of the weekend, given some luck in the draw.
BMW ITALIAN OPEN GOLF MATTEO MANASSERO O/R WINNER
Going into the final 2 rounds the young Italian is just one shot off the lead and I reckon he is a different grade to the rest of this field and in years to come will be proven right.
I am trying to abstain from horses this weekend due to a little meeting starting next Tuesday, which I believe to be the greatest horse show on the planet, which just leaves,
ATP AEGON CHAMPIONSHIP QUEENS MENS TENNIS ANDY MURRAY O/R
At 6/4 he is a bit short for me to be backing him on his own so I may put him in a few trixies mixing up my petrolhead selections, but I expect him to beat any of the 2 he has left to face and the ensuing Wimbledon hype will make him a perfect lay.
GOOD LUCK AND GAMBLE RESPONSIBLY
