Backed 2, 1 made the cut........

Too much work makes Ad a dull boy, or at least mildly frustrated at a lack of afternoons in front of the box clutching little slips of hope!
But finally a Saturday at home with Kev (my retired greyhound,) a few Stella and a bluster of flutters, plenty going on this weekend so,

THE OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP LUCAS GLOVER O/R WINNER
DUSTIN JOHNSON O/R WINNER

Lucas Glover is a Major winner! He is joint leader going into the weekend with a 4 shot advantage over the overly popular (this weekend) Rory McIlroy and yet he is fifth best in most bookies lists.
Dustin Johnson, I must admit, is one of the 2 I backed Wednesday night, the other being >whisper it< Matt Kuchar (early flight home.) I was flabbergasted to see 95 available for a player who has contended at this highest level and went close to winning G-Mac's US OPen @ Pebble Beach (blustery conditions.) I will be able to see how conditions affect the early starters before deciding wether to opt out of that one.

GERMAN MOTO GP MARCO SIMONCELLI RACE WINNER E/W

This fella is quick, he's huge, but he's quick and IMO deserves to win a Moto GP. If he can qualify front row this morning and get a decent enough start Sunday afternoon, i.e don't crash or lose too much ground early on Stoner, Lorenzo, Pedrosa et al, he has shown enough in practice to say he could take a hand in this races' finish. Thanks to Lorenzo's win LTO most place terms are 1,2,3.

GERMAN 125CC MOTO GP JONAS FOLGER RACE WINNER E/W
GERMAN MOTO2 GP STEFAN BRADL RACE WINNER

Huge fields always contest both of these races. Stefan Bradl started the Moto2 season strongly but has encountered a couple of indifferent races, Folger has struggled in all fairness but both are part of the home contingent and off level weights, home advantage is worth 5kmph.

SPEEDWAY WORLD CUP FINAL AUSTARLIA O/R WINNER

4/1 doesn't sound like that much of a long shot and if I'm honest I shouldn't be backing against the favourites but 8/15's aren't for me.
The final is being staged in Poland and Thomas Gollub is hitting World Championship form but in last weekends semi final, Australia showed cracking team spirit and that could go a long way to upsetting the odds, the draw is crucial.

Just 5 flat races on C4 this afternoon, summer jumping is just wrong, so no great reasoning but here's what I'll be backing in those:

2:20 Newbury PASTORAL PLAYER (Moore/Morrison s.r 21%)
2:35 Newmarket WILD COCO (Ahern/Cecil s.r 23%)
2;55 Newbury WATNEYA (in form combination)
3:10 Newmarket GIVE YOUR VERDICT (Fallon/Stoute say no more)
